Development Appraisal and Impact Analysis.
A combination of understanding the “big picture” for property development; private property investment analysis, and a critical analysis of the theory and practice of economic impact analysis. Key outcomes are:
- A thorough understanding of the “big picture” of property development.
- An understanding of development appraisal, discounted cash flow analysis and related criteria used by the private sector to make investment decisions
- To be able to make development decisions in uncertain environments using scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- An understanding of Type I and Type II multiplier analysis and its information requirements
- A critical analysis of input- output analysis and Keynesian economics from neoclassical, supply-side and Austrian perspectives
Students will select a project in their workplace environment and apply a similar process to that undertaken in the module workshop, which will then be used for assessment.
