Welcome to the Economic Development Distance Learning Consortium and to the courses which we offer on economic development. As you will gather from the information which is presented here, the consortium is the established provider of distance learning education for those who wish to develop or upgrade their skills and knowledge.

It is our mission to provide a flexible learning routeway for a range of people at different stages of their career: new graduates, junior and middle grade practitioners, those seeking a change of direction and people returning to work after a career break.

By providing a flexible programme, it is our intention to encourage and support people who wish to study at variable speed and to allow for interaction between your work and the tasks required by the course.

The Consortium is a partnership between three major universities (Coventry, Dundee and Sheffield Hallam) and the UK professional body for economic development (the Institution of Economic Development through its Education Trust). As is often the case in economic development practice, the best approach is through partnership, and our partnership has proved itself capable of meeting your needs. We look forward to registering you as a participant on the programme and to helping you to achieve your ambitions.
