Tony Jackson - University of Dundee


Module Leader: Labour Market Analysis and Policies


Initially graduating with a degree in economics, Tony went on to receive a “Ministry of Overseas Development award” to take an MSc in Agricultural Economics at Reading, leading on to a post in resource management and development in the Government of Malawi. He was also appointed the initial Stanley Smith Senior Fellow in Political Economy at the University of St. Andrews, followed by a lecturing post within the university faculty.

Tony then moved to become a senior lecturer and initial programme director of the accredited environmental management degree at the University of Dundee, which he also implemented. Chairing the National Council of the Institution of Economic Development from 2002-2004, and on a continuing basis for the Claverhouse Group, he has also served two terms as an elected member of a Scottish regional authority, and established a spin-off consultancy in economic impact assessment at St. Andrews.
